Help - desperate! I had problems with Windows XP, but my accounting software was OK. Asked someone to save my accounting programme and the back up data files (data updates) listed by the software programme as *SBB (Simply Books) files. The idiot only saved the programme shortcut to desktop on floppy. I felt reassured by the floppy, thinking I had a copy of the *SBB files but when Windows XP was reinstalled and then the accounting software reinstalled, no back up files *SBB on floppy but just the shortcut!
I have now lost 3 years of data. Has the reinstallation of the accounting software (with the *SBB) files overwritten the original *SBB files? Is there any way of getting hold of the older *SBB files which existed before the reinstallation of Windows XP and accounting software? I am desperate as I work for a charity for people with an Autism and kept only backing up on the computer. I felt reassured when given a copy of the floppy so agreeed for reinstallation of XP and the accounting software.
