Default Data Recovery

I am not sure what happend to your drive in the first instance?

If you ran one of the "Format Recover" options you should have got your files back with full file and folder names.

If for some reason the old partition information for the drive was destroyed then you will not be able to get the original file names back (the file names are stored with the partition information and not with the actual file data).

Unlike MP3 files, AVI file do not store any file properties inside the file. You will be stuck renaming the recovered files by hand.

Probably the fastest way to do this is to download and install Explorer View from www.expolorerview.com. This will allow you to view the AVI files in Windows Explorer (click on the Explorer View options button to make video files play automatically) and then you can use the F2 key to rename them.
