From what you have desribed you should get your files back with full file names and folder structure. However, in your case something is wrong as no search should run for more than 24 hours.
I suggest you stop the current search to see if you are able to save the current search results. Check both in File View and Folder view of the results screen for your files.
You do NOT have to run another search. The "evaluation version" is fully functional except for the ability to save files. When you enter your product activation details (a key is purchased at
www.recovermyfiles.com) this activates the ability to save files.
I do not know what is causing your search to run so slowly or freeze up. In your case you will probably need to run a new search. Please do the following:
1. Check that you are using the latest version of Recover My Files. On the main program screen, click on the UPDATE button and it will check for the latest version.
2. Do you know if the problem drive was originally FAT or NTFS? If you know the answer to this question click on the OPTIONS button on the main program screeen and in SEARCH - FORMAT RECOVERY set the type of file system to search for as one or the other. If you do not know the answer, just leave it as it is.
3. Now start a search and select "Complete Format Recover". Click NEXT.
4. In the drive selection window put a tick next to the "physical drive". Click NEXT.
5. In the file type selection window, just leave the default file types selected and do NOT add any more file types to the search. START this search and let it run.
Unless you have a very, very large hard drive (eg 500gb) this search should not run for more than 24 hours. If you experience the same problem as before, then there is something on your drive that makes the program get stuck. In this instance I will need to send you a special debug version wich will send us a very specific error log and allow us to identify the problem.
