I presume you have used the Windows search tool to search your PC for nbu files?
Download and try Recover My Files (
www.recovermyfiles.com) and run a Fast File Search - just search for the jpeg file type, then look in the Other Files folder in the results screen, or Folder View to see if you can find the files.
