Don't write any data to the drive or you will risk overwriting and destroying the files.
I would suggest you plug the drive into another computer as the secondary drive - either a direct connection or via a usb case.
Then run a program like Recover My Files (
www.recovermyfiles.com). Run a Complete Format Recover of the physical drive and search only for the default selected file types.
You can see the pictures found in the search results screen so you will know they are still there and can be recovered. They you can decide whether it is worth paying $70 to purchase a licese key and save the files.
