Data recovey
Hi,
To do a low level search of the drive for this file type means that we have to look at the file structure and add it to the Recover My Files list so that it can be recognized.
The first thing to do is to test if this file type is already found by the software, e.g. it may have a ******* OLE structure and could be found as an "unknown ole".
To do this, put some sample files in a test folder.
Run Recover My Files.
Click Complete File Search. Click Next.
In the drive selection window, click on "Add Folder To Search" and navigate to your test folder, add the folder, and put a tick in the box next to it. Click Next and ignore the message about not selecting a drive.
In the file type selection window, click every single file type. Click Start.
The search will scan the contents of the folder. If the file is recognized it will appear in the results screen as a specific file type. If it is not recognized, you wont see anything in the results screen and your only way forward would be to send us the samples so we can examine the structure.
Thank you.
