Default Accessing Cached Filesystem

I recently knocked over my External hard drive while accessing it (listening to music) and now it seems that it is broken.

Now I am just trying to rebuild my music library.

When I first knocked it over I noticed i could still browse the file system but I just couldn't open files. I restarted my comp hoping that it would fix it. But windows no longer recognizes the drive (Seagate Freeagent Desktop). It just tries to spin up and beeps every few seconds.

I am hoping that maybe windows might have stored the directories of the drive somewhere. Before I did a reboot I could still browse around in there just not open any files.

I know that file recovery from a broken drive is an expensive thing and I just want to know the filenames of the songs so i can begin to rebuild.

On a side note If anyone has any good tips/links on how to repair a broken external hard drive I would be very glad to listen =)
