Yes,
  • Download Recover My Files. http://download.getdata.com/RecoverMyFiles-Setup.exe
  • Run a Complete Format Recover.
  • Search the drive letter.
  • Search ONLY for the default selected file types.
  • At the end of the search look both in File View (for the selected file types) and Folder View (for all file types).
  • Click on the files found to preview their content.
  • If you see the files that you are looking for then purchase an activation key from www.recovermyfiles.com and save them to your other drive.

I hope this helps.

I really appreciate that. Hmm.. i installed. For the complete format recovery, what do i choose?

1.) C: or 0 physical?

2.) I selected physical to try and saw many "corrupted" why so? Are they recoverable?

3.) The file names are all "recovered...", if i purchase and recover my files, will my original file name be recovered as well?

Thanks alot!

Each hard drive in your PC is a "physical drive". So if you have two hard drives you will have two physical drives.

In my first response I suggested you search the drive letter - you can search the physical drive if you wish, but you will also find the currently active files (i.e. the new installation of Windows).

It is OK that the file names are all "Recovered....". At the end of the search RMF will rebuild the old file system with full file and folder names. Look in "Folder View " of the results screen to see the full file and folder names.

I did as you said. 24 hours ago, i did what you said.

I did a complete format recovery (as i have re-installed windows on the formatted drive). I chose the C: drive. Then waited for about 18 hours and finally all is done. I saved everything on another drive.

Now i have a few questions.

1.) Why is it that most of my pictures in the "ntfs partition" are all "no preview", in other words can't be viewed? Are they corrupted?

2.) Under the "lost files" folder, all the files are not named. Are these files linked to those files in my "ntfs partition" system? Because for my "ntfs partition" folder, the files inside the folder are the original names.

Hope you can help me out again..

"No preview" does not meand they are corrupted. Did you try to preview them during the search or after the search was complete? What happens when you save the files? Can you open them?

The files under the "Lost Files" folder were found using a search for their header and footer. The have the name "Recovered...." because the file name is not actually stored with the file content, but in another part of the disk know as the MFT table. The purpose of finding the "lost files" is to help the program locate MFT records for all files on the disk.

Once the MFT records are found they are used to rebuild the old file and folder structure and display it in folder view of the results screen. This enables you to recover all files with full file and folder names.

The "lost files" found will duplicated in Folder View, but in Folder View they will have their original names.

alright i get what you said.

Now just the last bit, which is also my reason for using RMF..

During the scan, i check some jpegs, and some are viewable on the preview while some are corrupted, basically, most are corrupted and not displayable.

After the scan and after i saved everything, some pics are still not viewable in my ntfs folder. those with original file names.

Why is it so? Sorry but i am unable to tell if those corrupted files during the scan are the same as those files not viewable after saving.

If the files with their full names are the ones that are corrupt then it means the MFT records are corrupt and no longer point to the right location on the disk for each file.

just one last question, for the MFT location you said, so is there any way i can get my files back then? Anyhow, i realised the file size all are too small to be the real files. though they are of the same name and extension.

If there is no way to get it back. please tell me so.
