I accidently unpluged my WD external USB hard drive while it was writing and must have caused a huge problem because everytime I try to access the drive it tells me I have to format the drive. The drive say's it has 0% used and 0% available. I run Recover my files v3.40 and the program stops responding about half way through causing me to reboot. I sent an email to customer support but that was before I knew about the forum. Does anyone have any ideas? I also have reinstalled the program twice. I'm running windows XP pro

Vedral,
Don't format your hard drive! Use the latest version, 3.40, of Recover My Files (download from http://www.recovermyfiles.com or hit the update button), and run a Format Recover of the Physical Drive. Just search for .bmp and .avi files. The error you had earlier was most likely due to a specific corrupt file type. Limiting the search to .bmp and .avi files should resolve this. Your entire partition will still be rebuilt at the end of this search. Please let us know how it goes.
