Default Will it work on a Macintosh?

I have RecoverMyFiles on my windows xp desktop machine. I plan on taking a harddrive out of a Macintosh G3 laptop and daisy chaining ( I have the proper adapter) it into my desktop to attempt to recover some data. Will this software work? Any special settings?

Hi,

Recover My Files will not understand the MAC file system so you wont get any results from the format recovery options.

You can run a "Compelte File Search" for specific file types. This will find the files by their unique header and footer. However they will not have their original file names and will be called "Recovered....".

If you use Recover My Files then you will need to prievew every MAC file found and then rename the file. To do this you can use MassRenamer from http://www.getdata.com/download.php or Explorer View from http://www.explorerview.com (preview the files and use the f2 ke to rename them).

Other than this, you can search for MAC compatible data recovery software and run the recovery from your MAC.
