The following post was sent by email directly to you a half hour ago. When I viewed your forum I see a somewhat similar post from Charles d Taylor that was left yesterday. His post contained no information other than error LP5 (which is likely LPS). While I have no idea whether/not the error has a common cause, there may be a common underlying issue.
Thanks, ECAIV **************************** Product mostly running OK on Sony VAIO computer. (One previous upgrade did not work properly. I re-installed the package with the license key and all was then OK.) The Operating system is XP SP2 with all Microsoft security patches (current as of today). What I've been able to determine is that Computer Associates Anti-Spyware 2007 seems to prevent Recover My Files from even loading/opening. The error is: "Error while unpacking program. Code LPS. Please report to author." I tried going back to an earlier version of Recover My Files and the same load/open error exists. Here's a URL for the Computer Associates software: http://home2.ca.com/DRHM/servlet/Con...uctID=50698500 I can't unload this Computer Associates software and get Recover My Files to work. So there must be either an interfering process(es) or something conflicting in the registry. Note also that I had no conflict with Recover My Files using the 2005 version of this same Computer Associates software--the problem seemed to start after I upgraded to the 2007 version yesterday. HELP!!!! |

Even with a 20+ inch monitor I now am not sure whether the error message is LPS or LP5 (as Charles d Taylor posted) due to the inability to further magnify the error message characters. In any event the error is likely the same as Mr. Taylor pointed out regardless of other software involved. Hence, this problem has likely been seen on another system.
Thanks, ECAIV |
