Default Full retrieval.

Hi there i am running a full retrieval of a formatted harddrive and i have a few questions wandering if anyone can answering them.
I meant to format my perndrive and formatted my 120gb external hd instead (i know idiot), anyways my main hd with os is only 40gb so i keep all my photo's, music, videos and other programs etc on this external.

What i want to know is will it repair all my music and videos and pics into there folders they was in?

Can i just save them back onto the external hd or do i need to get another as there was about 100gig of stuff on it and my main is only 40gig(as it would bea nightmare for me to get a hold of one)?

And also will it find files like .flac .ogg etc that i did not see in the file types(i choose every file type to find)?

And also it says on some "corrupt file no preview available" will it still retrieve them or what are they?

I know it might take days to find all my files but even if a takes a week and restores them i will be signing your praises i have a website and i am just finishing a degree doing computer networking and i have a ****on 2 site online so i would be advertising you a lot for free if this works(god pleaselet it work) thanks.

A few recovery tips for you.....

1. Please make sure you are using the latest verison of Recover My Files. You can download it from www.recovermyfiles or click the UPDATE button inside the program to make sure you have the most recent release.

2. To recover your formatted drive you should run the following search:

Start Recover My Files. In the first wizard window select "Complete Format Recover". Click NEXT.

In the drive selection window, put a tick next to the "physical drive" that is the same size as the drive you accidentially formatted. Click NEXT.

In the File Type selection window, use ONLY the default selected file types, .doc, .xls, .zip, .avi, .wav, .bmp, .jpg, .pdf, .zip. START the search one you have selected ONLY these.

A search should not take more than 24 hours MAXIMUM to run.

During the search the program will find the selected file types which it calls "Recovered...." and will display them to you in "File View" of the results screen. You can click on them whilst the search is in progres and view their content.

At the end of the search Recover My Files will rebuild the old file system. It will find ALL file types (not just the types selected) with FULL file and folder names. The results will be displayed in Folder View of the results screen. Also click here to preview the content of the recovered files to make sure you can see your data.

If you can preview the content of your files, then you can purchase a product activation key from www.recovermyfiles.com, enter it into the program (you DO NOT need to run the search again) and save your files to another drive.

You can run as many searches on a drive as you like, as Recover My Files does not change the contents of the drive being search.

However, make sure you dont write data to the drive until you are happy that you have recovered all your data from the drive. Writing data to the drive will overwrite and destroy deleted files.

I hope this helps.

Default hi

I have lost a lot of pictures from my digital camera, since it was formatted. I have used a lot of softwares but can't seem to get them back..My camera's memory is really low..And the pictures that I need aren't new, they are a few months old, and I've taken a lot of pictures since then. Do you think this software might work?

The only thing I can suggest is that you download Recover My Files and give it a try. You can get it here: http://download.getdata.com/RecoverMyFiles-Setup.exe.
