Hello!
I'm in dire need of help. I deleted a couple of files about a month ago. They're word files and possibly works files as well. I'm not really sure anymore. I have ran RMF once but those docs do not show up. My question is, is it possible to recover files that were deleted 'normally' so long ago? Thank you in advance for any help you can give me! Hi,
A Deleted file will stay on a computer up until such time that it is overwritten with new data. The more a computer is used since the deletion the more chance that a deleted file will be overwriten with new data and destroyed. It's not possible to control where Windows writes to the disk so luck has a lot to do with it. I have seen computers where it is possible to recover hunderds of deleted files up to five years old - even though the computer has been used every day. But I have also seen computers where a single file deleted hourse earlier has be overwritten by continued use of the computer in that time. The best thing you can do is to download Recover My Files from www.recovermyfiles.com and try a "Complete File Search" for the specific file types. Look in the preview window of the results screen to see if you can find the files you are interested in. Good luck.
