Default Writing to hard drive

When you install Recover My Files it writes the program files to the drive you are installing to, the same way any program does. This is why it is not recommended to install Recover My Files on the drive that you want to search for lost files.

When you run Recover My Files, it will not write any files to the drive you are searching, this is to prevent possibly destroying data that it is trying to recover.
