Will this program recover files (Word) after the hard drive was formatted with the Windows recovery CD? I am looking for one specific file and know the rough date before the hard drive was formatted.

Yes, it will. As long as the specific file has not been overwritten by the new installation then it can still be recovered.

I suggest you run a "Complete Format Recover". Search the "physical drive" and search for the default selected file types.

In the results screen look for your file both in "File View" and "Folder View". Click on the files found to preivew their content. You may also try and use the Filter button to search for this file in the results by its content.
