Exclamation Serious problem trying to recover ALL my photos

Hi,

I lost all my original RAW (.NEF files) including my own wedding pictures. There's no option to select RAW Nikon files, the only option you have in the software is "Tiff Graphic File (.tif .tiff .epx. nef)
But the problem comes when you select that filetype hoping to recover your .NEF files the software mess up ALL the NEF files cutting the filesize (all the .nef files are supposed to be 15 megs but the software turn them in 10 megs) and naming all the files *.tif instead of .NEF
Also I tried to open these tiff files.. but I get an error something like "end of filesize" cant remember now, the only thing I can see is the preview thumbmails but nothing more.

Please let me know if there's something I can do to recover my pictures with their proper extension please

Thanks!
Ek

Default Data Recovery

Hi,

What sort of media are you recovering from? What type of search did your run?

I suggest you try the following....

When you run Recover My Files (www.recovermyfiles.com) click on the "Manually Set Options" button on the main program screen. In the SEARCH tab make sure there is a tick in the box for "Search for Lost Files" and take the tick out of "try and determine file size of Lost Files" - now set the default file size to 16mb.

NEF files are very close to TIFF file in structure so please search for TIFF files. Once you find and save the TIFF files, then rename the extension to NEF.

This should recover your NEF photos.
