It should never take any longer than 24 hours maximum.
What version of Recover My Files are you running? (click HELP > ABOUT at the top of the program) Did you search for the default selected file types only? or did you add more file types to the search?

Yes, there is a new one. 3.98 is the latest version. It will solve your problem.
You need to run this verison and select "Complete Format Recover" and search only for the default selected file types.

The main thing to remember is to not write to the problem drive otherwise you can overwrite and destroy deleted files. Having the problem drive connected to a computer as the secondary drive is the best solution.
If you have the problem drive connected as a secondary drive you can install the software from your retail CD on the C: drive of the computer. Once installed enter the activation key which you will find in the retail box. Once the program is activated, click the UPDATE button on the main screen and it will download and install the latest version. Once you have the latest version run a Complete Format Recover of the drive letter (if you can see a drive letter then select the physical drive - you should be able to tell which one it is by the size). Search only for the default selected file types. At the end of the search look in Folder View for your files.

oh yea what is also weried now that i think of it. it shows 0 physical 111.79g and then it also shows 1 physical 111.79g what is the difference between the 2? they are the same drive? cause the C drive is at the very top of the list of drives to pick from and it has a different volume size |

A "physical drive" is an actual physical hard drive connected to your PC.
A physical drive can have more than one "logical drives" (or partitions), eg. C:, D:, E: Your booting partition, i.e. your C: drive, is 99% of the time located on physical drive 0, so a secondary drive attached to the PC should show up as physical drive 1. If you see "0 physical 111.79g" and then it also shows "1 physical 111.79g" then it looks like you have two hard drives in your PC that are exactly the same.

To select files to be saved place a tick next to the file or folder in the results screen. You will see in the bar down the bottom of screen which tells you how many files you have selected and the volume of data that is selected.
When you burn a DVD, as each file is saved to the DVD the tick for that file is taken off. So at the end of 4gb, the DVD will pop out and you can then put a new one in. Do another burn and the continue to burn the remaining selected files - an so on until there are no more selected (ticked) files.
