Hi, will this program recover files from around 4-5 months ago? the files are .doc and txt type files but i just want to make sure this will work?

A deleted file will stay on your computer up until such time that is it overwritten by new data. So if you have used you computer a lot since the files were deleted, or your disk is nearly full, this can increase the chace that the files have been overwritten and destroyed.

You will not know until you try a search. Downlaod the latest version of Recover My Files from www.recovermyfiles.com and run a Complete File Search for the specific file types. You will be able to preivew the files found using the evaluation version so it does not cost you anything to try

Ok thanks, is there an option to recover files back to their original folder from 4-5 months back and will the search above bring the file names back to their original name?

If the original file and folder names can be recovered then Recover My Files will get them back.

However, the file and folder names are stored in a differen location to the actual file data, so it is possible that they can be lost but the actual content of the file still recovered. This is why in the results screen you should also check out files that start with the default name "Recovered...".

ok i did the full recovery and most of the word files it found say: This file is encrypted or unable to be read. Is there a way to read these files?

Were the original files encrypted or password protected?

You would need to save these files and then unlock them.

No these weren't protected or encrypted if i get the full license and then save them will i be able to view them?

It is more likely that the files are corrupt. If you cannot preview them then it is unlikely the files will open once they are saved.
