Default Lost JPEG Files

Hello. I accidentally deleted my pictures from our vacation just last week! I erased ONE folder with more than 100 JPEG files, just 12 hours ago (April 26, 2007). The pictures were taken on April 24 and 25 by a Sony camera. I have no other back-up of the files except for this computer. I tried searching the internet and found RecoverYourFiles.

However, I'm having trouble with searching them.

I've read the other threads here and saw that it'd be better if I use the Complete Format Recover.

Does the File Search always show the active files (not deleted ones)?

I'm not sure yet how to use this program, I hope I can get more tips.

Also, I had emptied the Recycle Bin when I accidentally deleted my files.

Help, please! Thanks!

Hi,

Please make sure you are using the latest version of Recover My Files. If you already have it installed, click the UPDATE button on the main program screen to ensure it is the latest.

In your situation where you have deleted a folder, you need to run a "Complete File Search" of the drive letter for specific file types (probably just the JPEG file types if this is what your pictures were). During the search progress you can click on the files found in the search results screen to preview their content.

Not all files may be recovered with their full name, so it is best to preview them all to find the ones you need. You may find it easiest to sort the results column by Size, as most camera pictures will be about the same size and this will group them together.

Please let us know how it goes.

Hello! Thanks for your response. Yes, I have version 3.98. I assume that is the latest. Is it?

I have recovered many files, but so far I only saw 8 JPEG files out of the hundred I lost. I will view the other images, maybe they're just hiding amongst others. And yes, I also sorted them by file size to make it easier. Thanks!

Can I search by DATE? My table (columns) do not show the date created/modified/accessed. The pictures I am looking for were shot on April 24 and 25, and I uploaded them on this computer on the 25th. Any chance I can sort them by date?

Thanks again!

I tried sorting them by name. The digits in the filename are in sequence anyway. But still, I can only see 8 files =(

I found many pictures that I also deleted together with the ones I am looking for. Only those pictures have back-up because I have them on CD. The pictures I am currently looking for were only stored here.

I sound really desperate. Haha.

Hi,

Can you please try a "Complete File Search" again, but this time in the drive selection window, select and search the Recycle Bin.

If this does not work, then try a "Complete Format Recover" of the "phsycial" drive for the default selected file types. Look both in File View and Folder view of the results screen.

I these two searches dont find them then I then they have been overwritten with other data and destroyed.
