need help with Nikon NEF files

I shoot only in RAW with a D200 and use photoshop CS2. things were working OK until I transferred my picture files to an external hard drive to make room on my laptop. now I cannot open any of these files that i transferred. Photoshop does not recognize the files as a RAW file. I also tried Nikon Capture NX and this soft ware locks up when i try to open one of these files.

Please help. The images i lost are valuable to me and i am willing to pay for software and/or professional help to recover them.

Please send me a sample RAW image and I will see if I can work out what is wrong with the files. If you can zip one and mail it to me, or otherwise I can give you FTP details.
