Zak,
It would be best if you can take an image of the drive so that I can have a look. Please try and take an image of your Pen drive. Download Ezy Imager: http://www.getdata.com/download.php?FILE=EzyImager.exe. Plug your Pen drive in. Run EzyImager. Select the pen drive in the drive list (you should be able to tell which one it is by the size). Write the image to a file on your PC called C:\image.raw. Now ZIP this file with WinZip and let me know how big it is. Thanks.

Ok i did that but I could'nt tell which one was the USB Pen drive from the list...... so i did the second one 0: Physical drive
0: physical drive 1: physical drive C: {no label} 18.63 GB 1: physical drive comes up with the following error Error no.23 drv:1 LBA:0 # Sectors:1 Size = 509967360 Number of partitions = 0 Number of sectors = 996030 Number of cyclinders = 62 Number of heads = 255 Number of sectors/track = 63 Number of bytes/sector = 512 0: Physical drive Size = 20003880960 Number of partitions = 1 Number of sectors = 39070080 Number of cyclinders = 2432 Number of heads = 255 Number of sectors/track = 63 Number of bytes/sector = 512 and it produced a 14gb file And this is where i'm stuck , as My Hard drive is only 20GB, so i could'nt zip it with WINRAR. I could try it on my other laptop (Dell Inspiron 9300) which has 55GB of free space if you want me to Last edited by zack Dezear; 05-12-2007 at 07:19 AM. |

Drive 0 is the physical drive resides.
Drive 1 is your pen drive. Try and image this.

Hi
I tryed Physical drive 1 But i keep getting errors Error no 23 drv 1: LBA : 1692 # sectors :1 { I had to hold down the Enter button} as the LBA started errors at 1, but holding it down the Enter moves it on but I gave up at 1692 as it error after error on each step and it goes upto 996020 I guess there's no way... shame does that mean throw it in the bin, as i have lost hope that i'll never retreve my files on it :-( |

Your pen drive has physical errors and cannot be read by a PC.
Your only hope now is to send it to a hardware data recovery service - however this can sometimes be an expensive option.

Oh Marvelous!!
It was Jpeg Files of Scenery, which I can take again i'm not really that fussy, as i'm not paying for it. Anyway of formatting the drive so that i can re-use it. Again if i can't I'm not really fussy as its only a 512mb. I got all my proper stuff backed onto 3 Verbatim DVD+R DL (8.5 gb) Which I recommend to all people to do... Verbatim only (4.7 or 8.5 gb) zack |

If you cant get your PC to see the drive connected then there is no way to format and use the drive.
