Default RMF locks up

hi,

I am trying to recover files after a quick format, so i am running a full format recover. It seems to work for a while but then the program freezes and the cpu usuage goes up to 100%, the only way to unfreeze it is to open task manager and then it resumes but this only works a few times before it completly locks up my computer. I have ran it in safe mode which seems to make it run a bit longer but then it does it again.

I am running vista but thinking of running xp on another drive to see if it makes any difference. Any help is well appreciated.

intel dual core 2.2ghz processor
2gb ddr ram
and the drive i am trying to recover is a 320gb but partitioned and im trying to recover the 170gb partition.

Default Data Recovery

What version are you running - click the UPDATE button on the main program window to make sure you have the latest.

When running a Complete Format Recover, make sure you only search for the default selected file types, .doc, .xls, .ppt, .avi, .jpeg, .bmp, pdf, .zip .wav. These files will be used to locate the partition information and at the end of the search the full file and folder structure with all file types (not just those above) will be found.
