Lost Mobile Phone Contact data

Hope someone can help.

Yesterday I transferred all my mobile telephone numbers from Mobile to PC
The info transferred OK but it appears I did not save in a back up file.
I had to get a replacement phone and all info both on the sim card and phone was deleted before returning the old phone.
Have got the new phone today and went to transfer the data back to my new phone--but horror of horrors--I cannot find the data. Will this data recovery software be able to recover the information--I had 500 telephone numbers, so it is quite a problem

What software was used for the transfer? What type of files does it create?

Software used was Nokia PC Suite Version 6.84

I think files have ext. nbu

I presume you have used the Windows search tool to search your PC for nbu files?

Download and try Recover My Files (www.recovermyfiles.com) and run a Fast File Search - just search for the jpeg file type, then look in the Other Files folder in the results screen, or Folder View to see if you can find the files.

Have downloaded and purchased your software.

Have run the programme as you suggested, but have been unable to find the lost data.
Have you any updates that can check for .nbu file extensions or do you have any further suggestions that I might be able to try?

Dear Seamus

I am running the same software program you are: Nokia PC Suite Version 6.84. Just yesterday I backed up my contacts to my PC. The location of my nbu file is: Users/(owner's name)/Roaming/Nokia/ContentCopier where ContentCopier is the folder name where your backup file should be. When you click on the file the Nokia program will come up and tell you all the data on the phone will be lost when you transfer your numbers but you don't have any numbers currently on your phone.

Please try this and let me know if you find it and if it works.
