Default External Hard Drive Comes up a Raw File Type

HELP

I have a Seagate External Hard Drive, I was having problems with the Drive. It was coming up with an error message of. The specified i/o operation on \Device\Harddisk1\DR10 was not completed before the time-out period expired.

I think, I updated the firmware and when I plug the hard drive back in it could see the drive however it came up a H Drive and I open the drive and there was nothing there. I right click and click on Properties it said the file system is RAW.

Help I had a lot of Photos that I took that I need to recover.

Default Data Recover

Please download Recover My Files from www.recovermyfiles.com. Run a Fast Format Recover on the physical drive and let me know the results.

Thank you.

What drives do you see in the drive selection window?

Does your USB drive appear to be functioning correctly? Does it have a light? Can you hear the hard drive spinning? Have you checked the cables?

It sounds like the drive has physical problems which are preventing it from being seen by your computer.

You could try a different type of connection to your PC (e.g. if it is currently connected via USB, then instead try connecting it directly to the PC).

If it still cannot be seen then you probably need a hardware data recovery service. You can get a quote here; http://www.recovermyfiles.com/data-recovery-service.php

How would I go about doing that the drive is in external case. How would I open it up. Also I am using a Dell 9300 Inspiron Notebook computer as my primary computer.

Could I put it to another external case.

Default Data Recovry

You could try putting it in another external case - this would eliminate the case as the problem, but if it is the drive that is the problem then it will not make any difference.

Unfortunately as you are running a laptop it is not practical to try and connect it to the laptop other than by using a USB connection.
