Default is it possible to recover files in the same place ?

I just formatted my HD by accident and I need to recover all my files. Problem is I don't have another drive to save it to. CAn this be done in place ?

My understandingis that when a file get's deleted there is a flag that marks it as deleted so it should be possib;e to change the flag back to normal. Will this software allow this ?

Are you still able to run Windows? Is Windows installed on this drive?

Default Data Recovery

Recover My Files (www.recovermyfiles.com) is a data recovery tool, not a drive repair tool.

You may find drive repair tool by searching google, however you should be aware that if it does not work then you can actually make data recover much more difficult.

I suggest you install Recover My Files on your Windows drive and run a Fast Format and then a Complete Format Recover on the problem drive. Then you can save your data back to the Windows drive. Once you have got your important files then you might want to try drive repair software.
