Default Recovery Help

Hello. I Recently bought and installed Recover My Files to recover data from an external hard drive that was giving me an I/O error. It took about 16 hours to compile all of my files through a Complete Format Recovery.

The HD is an 80gig Maxtor and consisted of around 40gigs of mp3s. After the Complete Format it showed that it recovered around 400gigs of information in DIR folders as it seems it was not able to keep the integrity of my folder organization. So I've been sifting through 400gigs of information trying to pick and choose the albums to take off. IT didn't seem that hard considering I have a pretty thorough organization system when it comes to naming files.

The other day though my computer did an automatic update and restarted and I had to run another Complete Format Recovery and in the meantime I decided to play some of my music that I had gotten back and noticed that many of the files either didn't play (none of the mp3s I grabbed had the .bak or .new suffix that many of the ghost copies of the mp3 files had) or were not the correct name of the song they were labeled as.

Is there anyway to get these files and know that I am getting a correct or working file?
