Default Recovery Help

Well, after a bust up with the girlfriend, she thought it was funny to highlight everything, on my desktop, and delete it all.

She then thought it was funny to open my computer, and delete some important folders on of C:\

And then decided to go to my documents and delete all the stuff out of there,

I've tried several software programs to try and recover some of the files lost. Some i dont mind about, but some i do, i need "all" of "My Documents" back, so far i couldnt locate anyfiles whatsoever from any software i used.

I need some of the desktop stuff back, i managed to find a few odds and ends,

And i need the folder that was deleted of of C:\ area, and manged to find only a few files from it.

Please, can anyone help me relocate all that i have lost, im in need of help.

Thanks

-Jeff-

Download Recover My Files here: http://download.getdata.com/RecoverMyFiles-Setup.exe and do a "Complete File Search" for your lost file types.

The demo version will allow you to see what can be recovered. Click on files in the results screen to preview the content. If you find what you are looking for then purchase an activation key, activate the program, and save your files.

The first thing you should check is that the files are actually deleted and have not just been moved. You can do this in Recover My Files by running a 'Complete File Search' and in the drive selection screen, "add a folder to the search" and add your C:\ drive. Then it will search all you active files - pick the files types you want and then check the results.

If the files have been deleted it is possible that continued use fo the computer has overwritten and destroyed the deleted data and that is why you are not finding it.

oh ok thanks.....

But i cant see how my computer would overwrite and destroy newer data, and leave older data from months ago.

Windows has a mind of its own. It can dump a bunch of data out to the disk without you even knowing it.

I see, well.... Recover My Files keeps crashing too.

Its crashed 3 times now.... i leave it to scan, and after an hour or so... it will jsut freeze and say not responding.

And so there is no way to get some of my data back?

Please provide more information.

What version of Recover My Files are you using? What type of search are you running when it stops responding. What is on the screen when it stops. Have you had any previous problems with bad sectors on this drive?
