Can't save to CD/DVD?

I don't have any other drives besides C so I guess I'm forced to save to CD/DVD right? When I do that it tells me there is no space available. Yet I'm using new discs. First I tried with with CD-R, no space then I tried with DVD-R, no space available. So I thought it was just my laptop acting funny but I did a test burns on both CD-R and DVD-R and they burned fine. popped it out, put it back in the files show up on the drive.

This thing took like 4 hours to do a full scan I just want to save it and go to bed

Oh edit: I have a Toshiba Satellite, using Windows XP, and my drive is MATS HITA DVD RAM UJ-841SA

Some users have reported the same problem with DVD -R. They have solved it by using a +R disk. Are you able to try this?
