I am doing a complete file search and it has been going for about 11 hours. It is crawling along and seems like it might take days to finish.
My question is this: If I stop this search will I be able to save the files it has already recovered? I tried to save them while it was running, but the save files option is not selectable. I have a corrupt hard drive and had to search the logical drive. After reading this forum it appears I should have ran a format recover (fast or complete I don't know). Please help. I need to get my .pst file back asap! Thank you. |

Hi,
If you are running a "Complete File Search", note down the number in the progress window that the search is up to, i.e. xxxxxxxx of xxxxxxxxxx. Now stop the search, and you will be able to save the search results so far. Once you have saved all the files you need you can start the search from the same location as where you left off. Click on the OPTIONS and ADVANCED button and put a tick in the box for "prompt for start cluster..." then start your new search, and when prompted, enter the number you wrote down as the place to start the new search.
