Question File Structure recovered all files corrupt

Hi

I have used your recover program to do a complete file system recover (the fast did not work) I have a 160GB SATA drive that one day just wasn't picked up in windows. MY PC had been having crash issues, so one last hard power off to many I am sure blew away the partition table or file structure. Anyway, disk works fine, I can detect it in Windows disk manager, where it says unallocated, and RecoverMyFiles sees it fine as a physical disk, but not logical.

Anyway, so after reading the documentation and working out I need to do the complete file system search I run this, 24 hours later, it comes back with 4 discovered partitions (even though there was only 1) all 4 are the same mind you, basically jsut copies of each other. Now my file structure is there with all the files, everything just beautiful, I sleect the files to save, it saves them, and every single one is corrupt, can;t be read by word, excel, wahtever.

What is really weird though, is if I save the files from the file type view where it has searched for them, they save as "unkown_excel_1" etc, but the files are fine, I can open them no worries all good. So I have both pieces of the puzzle, the file data is obviously ok, as I can open the actual files, and the directory and file structure is also there as I can recover that as well, but I can't have both at the same time, am I missing a trick here? I am using 3.6 of your program by the way on a Vista machine, is my copy just out of date?

Should have said as well, the status of the files is "unkown"

Thanks in advance

Default Data Recovery

Version 3.60 is very old and you need to update. Press the update button on the main program screen and it will download and install the update. Or you can download and install the latest version here: http://download.getdata.com/RecoverMyFiles-Setup.exe

There has been some major improvements to the partition recovery since this version, so you need to run the "Fast Format Recovery" and then try the "Complete Format Recover" of the physical drive again.

Please let us know how it goes.

Thank you.
