I recently restored an outlook pst file from a hard drive that had been fdisked. I then used the software get-my-emails, to verify if there were in fact folders and emails within the pst. They are all there. I then ran scanpst.exe to check for errors, there were none. When i tried to re-add this pst to outlook, it asks for a password. I asked the user, and they said they never had a password on their pst file. I have checked permissions, changed owners, so it's not permissions. How do I get rid of this non-existant password so that i can get to the files? Or is this pst corrupt, and not usuable?

The PST file may be slightly corrupt. Please take a working copy of the file and then download and run Recover My Email from http://www.recover-my-email.com. This program can be used to save the recovered messages into a new error free PST.
