Hi, I am considering buying this software. I have a 200GIG Buslink USB 2.0 Hard Drive that is no longer being recognized by my Win XP system. It has the same drive letter assigned but Windows says that it needs formating. I have mostly music files but some program files on it and I know they are still there.
Will your software work on USB drives and if so what setting would I use in the menu system. Thanks for any assistance. |

Hi,
Please try the demo version first as you can preview the files it finds and from the results decide if you want to purchase a product activation key and activate the ability to save files. The latest version is 3.73 and is available from www.recovermyfiles.com. The first thing you should try is a "Fast Format Recover". Try this first on the "physical drive" and then depending on the results, next try the "logical drive". A "Fast Format Recover" will only take about 30minutes to run but does not work in all situations. If you do not get results with a Fast Format Recover then try a "Complete Format Recover". Search the "physical drive". Use ONLY the default selected file types, DO NOT add music files to the search. Lets hope you have a Fast USB2 connection. I would guess that it will take about 10 hours to run and will rebuild your entire parititon at the end of the search with full file and folder names. After you have run it for 1 hour, let me know what the progress bar says and I can give you some tips to speed things up.
