Default data recovery

Yes, it is better not to install it on the partition from which the files have been deleted so that you don't run the risk of overwriting and destroying the deleted files.

Default Data Recovery

A damaged photo usually means that part of the file has been overwritten by other data and the file is corrupt.

There are different options, depending on how damaged the files is.

You can try opening the file with infanview, a free graphics program that is quite good at opening slightly damaged files. Trying to repair the damage with a edit program like photoshop is also an option.

Form more serious corruption, there are some graphic repair programs that can be found with a google search - but in my experience I have never found them to be much good.
