lost cell phone SIM data

I have made a huge mistake and overwritten my contact data (names and phone numbers) on my SIM card in my Motorola V3 razr cellular phone.

I lost like 200+ contacts. I checked various locations and did not have the data backed up. From the phone when I check SIM memory there are only a handful of contacts shown. These are the ones that I had had on the phone. When I went to copy onto my SIM card, I mistakenly hit "overwrite" instead of "merge". Next thing I know pretty much everything is gone.

Can anyone offer assistance on the possibility of recovering this data?

Data recovery from sim cards is possible. Sim card recovery has really been driven in recent year by law enforcement - you can understand why law enforcement agencies would want to recover deleted phone data.

I suggest you search Google for "Cell phone forensics" - you will find numerous programs available and you should be able to find something that suits your needs.

I did the same thing with my motorola v3..

I bought a sim reader and software, but all I can see are some marks..no numbers..any clue?

As I was using Motorola Software Update on my laptop, I unfortunately deleted ALL my phone contacts. They were stored in the phone rather than the SIM card. I would GREATLY appreciate any help pertaining to how I could get those phone numbers back!
