Hello to all members of this forum
![]() I have a problem with my files. As we know that in mozilla firefox, there is a feature which called saved password. I usually saved password in there to remember site's password I have visited. But my brother accidentally click remove all button in the tools -> option -> saved password, so all of my saved password lost. After that, I tried to use system restore several times but when I want to open the mozilla to see whether I could recover my saved password or not, the program crash. I don't know exactly why the mozilla crash. Then I deciced to format my windows. After formating the windows, I make saved password again from the beginning. Actually I want to recover the saved password before I format and I uses system restore. As far as I know that in mozilla, saved password is saved in a file called signons3.txt in c:\document and settings\application data\mozilla\..... But the problems are I have already used system restore and format my windows. And also the most important thing, after formatting the windows, I have made the saved password again which overwrite the signons3.txt before in the past. So, is there any possibility to recover the saved password again in the beginning before my saved password were lost by my brother ? I have ever heard from my friend saying that although certain files is overwritten by the same files, the old files is duplicated by windows. After hearing this, I have a little hope that my old saved password could be recovered . But I don't know how to recover my password. Could you please help me how to recover it if there is a possibility to recover it ?Thanks before |

Hi,
I don't think it will be possible to recover this file anymore. To many changed have taken place on the PC. The firefox password file also looks to be protected (not just a straight text file) so this complicates things again.
