I accidently formated my hd and put windows 98 boot files on it. I had around 400gigs worth of goodness.
My question is I use the complete format recovery and add like 5 files (avi, mpeg ect) I know it will take a good week or so to finish the scan, I cancel the scan after 4 hours. It finds all my lost partitions (should just be 1 really) and shows me ALL my lost files. Yay I say and figure I can go ahead and save my files. Well it saved all my files but there (all) corrupt even though the sizes and all are correct. Is the reason my files are corrupt because I canceled the scan? |

Hi,
Run the scan again, and this time follow these instructions: How to recover a formatted hard drive When you get to the results screen you should be able to preview the content of the files found in the Recover My Files preview window. If they can be previewed then they will be ok when saved - if they do not preview then there is a problem. Let me know the results of this new search. Thank you.
