Default WD Hard Drive Crash - Size of files recoverd

I have an External WD HD 160GB which crash and suddenly was not red anymore by my laptop. I used the WD Data LifeGuard Tools but this software automatically started to re-partition the drive. I was able to stop it and then, the disk was viewable again but all the data was lost.

I have explored with different trial data recovery software and the data is there. With recover my files v3.73 data is coming out but everything has 134144 KB sizes. Before buying anything I need to be sure that I will be able to recover the files in their original sizes.

Just as additional information, I tried the trial VirtualLab Client. It was great, all file were shown in their original sizes, in their original folders, but when I required the service, cost was simply absurd. What I meant is that all folders and their files are there in their original formats.

Could someone tell me what to do to be sure that this software will recover files correctly?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Default Data Recovery

Run a "Complete Format Recover" of the new drive letter using Recover My Files. Search only for the default selected file types. Make sure you let the search run to the end because it is at the end of the search that the old partition is rebuilt and the files sizes will be correctly shown.

In the results screen, make sure you are in "Folder View" and then click on some of the files found to see if they will preview in the bottom window.
