Default Missing folders/curtailed files.

At some point between my having backed up all the past few months files to my second hard drive and windows asking which drive I wanted to reinstall windows on; the drive letters somehow switched.

Left with a freshly quick-formatted drive with xp installed on it and no backup I quickly shut down, unplugged the supposed backup drive and reformatted/installed on the one I had originally intended to. Now I am trying to recover my backups

After following the "how to" post through using the trial version I have most of the old file structure showing, but with a good few folders missing and a fair number of the log files 'recovered' stopping mid word when viewed in preview with the words "Endian: little" appearing in the comment field.

What does this mean? Is there any way to somehow get back the folders not showing up (one of which contains all backups between 2004 and 2007)? And rhetorically; why did I only have one copy of the backup drive when I specifically bought 2 so I could raid it?

Any help is greatly appeciated.

Finally found a means of actually paying for this, you'd be surprised how many credit cards don't seem to work online at the moment.

Now I've saved the found files to disk and gladly note that the files are only cut short in preview mode.

This only leaves the question of where the rest of my file structure has disappeared to. So far identified and recovered approximately 130GB out of close to 200 from the 250GB disc.
