After MANY hours of running a Complete Format Recover on a formatted hard drive, it appears most files are recoverable, but then the status window states that a virtual partion is being created. Is it necessary to let this part of the routine run thru? Or can I simply stop it and recover my files?
I must have accidently shut RMF down, so I am re-running the Complete Format Recover. I am recovering a 250GB drive to a second blank 250GB drive. The original drive had mostly JPGs. I only checked BMPs in the File Types option. |

At the end of the search the partition is rebuilt. It is necessary to let this complete in order to re-build the entire folder structure and original file names. I suggest you let it finish.

Can you give me an estimate of how long this part takes (creating the partition)? It appeared to be stuck at this point.
Also, is it normal for this size drive (250GB) to take several days to recover? As I stated, I checked only "BMP" as a search. Is there anything else I can do to speed things up? I purchased this software at CompUSA, BTW. Thanks for any help. |

The search is taking to long. It is a very large hard drive, but i would not expect recovery to take more than 24 hours.
I have a feeling that you may be using the old version? The latest version is 3.73, you need to click the UPDATE button on the main program screen to get it. Please confim the version that you are using.
