Question...
Can I recover Windows files from an external hard drive that was reformatted for use on a Mac? And if so, will trying to recover the files destroy my current Mac formatting and files on it? The files are mainly .wav files and Cubase project files (multitrack audio recording software). I, being the genius that I am, thought that I had moved all my audio files to another hard drive before formatting for Mac. Client NOT HAPPY! ![]() |

Yes, you probably can get your wave files back.
I suggest you run Recover My Files and select a "Complete Format Recover" search. In the drive selection window, you should see the "physical" drive (you will be able to tell which one it is by the size. In the file type selection window, just use the default file types, which includes wav. Whilst the search is in progress, look File View for your wav files, and listen to them to see if they have been recovered ok. At the end of the search, check in Folder View of the results screen for your files. Please let us know how it goes. Good luck.
