I'm interested in this software and this is my case.
I was had in my pc triple boot.(80gg hd,250gb hd.) WXP32,WXP64 and vista 64. I bougth a 320gb sata2 hd and partitioned in 2 on wxp64. The disk was recogniced as a dynamic disk and i partitioned the disk in 2(120 gb and 200gb something like that) TBH i didn't nottest it was a dynamic volume under windowsxp64. So 3or 4 months latter i decided to reinstall OS's and i proceded to delete the windows partitions under the windows install disk.(i forgot about my 320hd being detected as dynamic disk)My windows installs were on a 80gb sata2(all 3 of them) What i'm wondering is if your software can recover .iso's and Winrar files from a dynamic disk that under windows xp32 says unreadible. But still recogniceable as a disk(320gb 0 bytes free)The hd has no problems and it never clicked or something like that. Thank's for your help! |

Hi,
Yes, you should be able to get your files back. Follow the instructions in this post and let me know the results: http://forums.getdata.com/computer-d...ard-drive.html Thank you.

I have to say that i recovered 120gb of .isos and .rar files
I havent tested the .isos but i have tested 3gb and 4 gb rar files, and they uncompressed with no problems at all. I have to say that i was very amazed with your software. I still have 1 more question. the 320hd from where i was recovering the files had 2 partitions(dynamic), But the software only sees one of them(using quick format) Should i run a complete format to se if it sees the other partition? or is the other partition lost and there is no way to rescue files from it? |

Hi,
Yes, it is worth running the "Complete Format Recover" as you may indeed locate the second missing partition. In your case, it would be useful to let it run as long as you can, because you don't know where the old partition was located on the disk. Or, you could go into the OPTIONS > ADVANCED and use the "prompt for start cluster" to start the search further down the disk closer to the suspected location of the missing second partition. Good luck.

It may be having trouble reading the disk - can u hear it spinning?
Make sure you are searching only for the default selected file types (close down the program and run it again to go back to default selection). Is it finding any files - can you see any in File View of the results screen? You can click o them whilst the search is in progress to preview them.

i selected mp3,jpg,avi and mpeg files
So far it has detected 1 partition(the one where the isos and rar files were) and it has found only 1 file it says Recovered_partition_1 1kb i'll kep it running overnigth. Will the screensaver cause any problems? I have disabled hibernation on the pc |

It should be fine to let the screen saver run - but it is good that you have set the disk so that it will not hibernate.
How did the scan turn out?
