Default Just did a fast Fast Format Recover, now what?

my primary 1TB HD was there one minute, then BOOM it wasn't, losing my entire drive and O/S.

i went out, got another drive to be my "C", and replugged this damaged drive into the system as an additional local drive. it's windows xp properties showed it was empty.

i then ran Fast Format Recover, and it came up with 17 files, including NDETECT and ntldr.

now what? when i try to save them, it still wants me to save to another drive instead of just 'fixing' the drive itself. how do i get my old drive back? thanks for this help!!!

Default Data Recovery

Recover My Files is a data recovery tool, not a drive repair tool.

A good data recovery tool will force you to save the files you have found to another drive. Why? because if you start trying to repair a drive and it does not work, then you will have changed the content of the drive and run the very real risk of making data recovery much more difficult.

If you want to try and repair the drive, if the data on the drive is of value to you, then I would first try getting a copy of it off the drive.

If you run a Complete Format Recover with Recover My Files you should be able to see the entire file and folder structure in folder view of the search results screen.

I would bet that your "damaged" drive is a Seagate 7200.11
It's an old post but drop me a PM if you still need to fix the drive.
