I just purcshased Recover My Files and thought it was succesfully recovering files until I actually tried to open them. First, what happened:
1. Had multiple HDs with multiple partitions in Windows XP 2. Had a problem with Windows, did a reinstall from the disk 3. During the install I deleted the C: partition 4. Following the Windows XP install, about half of the partitions were missing (I assumed that since I didn't touch these other drives/partitions they would have been fine) Then, I bought Recover My Files. Since then: 1. I have been doing the Fast Format Recover and locating the files/folders I want to recover and using the Save As feature to put them on an active partition 2. This appeared to work... 3. However, when I go to open any of the .zip or .exe files that were taken from the recovered drive, Windows will essentially tell me that the files are corrupt. Oddly enough, all of the .txt files appear fine. Any suggestions as to how I can properly recover the .zip and .exe files in particular? Last edited by Funkybot; 05-05-2009 at 11:40 AM. |
