Hi - i had two drives attached and pressed ok to format the wrong one! no way out so i just pulled the power cord out! It actually didn't even look like the format had started.
Anyway, i booted off the other unaffected drive, installed some recovery programs and went to work...but no luck. I used recover my files ver3.98-6430 The scan on my 229gb hdd - took 22hrs to run It found 924646 files It classified the by file type, but didn't give any file names or directory structures. It found multiple files the same size...when i preview them they are the same file (eg. same picture or same text file) But there are still the majority of files missing. eg jpgs - i probably has 5000 taken with my camera (ie. over 1mb each) - the results show 8000 jpeg camera files and 57000 normal jpeg - there are about 500 over 1mb, but mostly duplicates so maybe only 50 different pictures (they all have about 8 duplicates) There were thousands of errors in the event log: Error in processing MP3/Excel... Driver at sector/cluster xxxxx When going through the recovered list, many files recovered seem to be the wrong size, i have lots of smal mp3's and jpgs....etc. With some that looked ok, when i go into preview, the property/value data looks correct But many files corrupt - like every xls is corrupt, none are ok. What should i do? Any help massively appreciated...although I am not holding much hope. Thanks in advance. I ran another program - easeus data recovery wizard - no luck there either, results showed me 100 partitions, all different sizes of hdd, all had same number of folders, but each partition showed different number of files...when i choose a partition and choose next it starts building the directory "NTFS:Reading Files"...then ****s up, says out of memory. |
