Hi,

Try running the Complete Format Recover. In the drive selection window, do you see the "physical" drive listed? If so, tick it, and search it for the pre-selected file types.

What happens?

i followed your suggestion, as the search was continuing the 'files found' total stayed at zero, and i had searched some 200,000 files on this drive.

background info: couple of weeks ago i purchased a internet security suite, i had major difficulty getting it to go online and downloading the latest updates, so i contacted the company i purchased it from, they did a "remote connection" to my pc and found a small annoying virus, nothing major but just annoying, (picked up through USB Flash drives, the technician recognised it) it was preventing me from going online to update.

other problems or anomallies i'm also experiencing,
1. i am unable to create a restore point,
2. when i double click on any drive in "my Computer" i just get a message saying windows cannot find a particular file which happens to be this virus file, but if i right click on any drive and choose 'explore' i can go to it.
3. now this problem of not being able to initiate any drives with this "Recover My Files" software. i think it may all be related.

starting to think i will have to bite the bullet and do a format and re-install all my software

thanks for reading.

Default Data Recovery

Are you sure you are running Recover My Files with full administrator rights?
