Hi,
Last night suddenly my outlook stopped working, and popped up an error message "Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." . it is not opening even in safe mode. Later i was able to recover, and send/receive the emails by repairing the registry using windows tools. However, i am not able to see any of my previous emails and lost the contacts from address book ![]() I had very critical project data and information in email for almost 6 months, and I have lost all ![]() I can't find any .pst or .ost file. Is there any way i can recover my old emails. please help! thanks -CK |

Hi,
Your PST or OST file is most likely still on your PC somewhere. Make sure that when you do a search, you include the search for "hidden files" as these files are contained in a hidden folder. They are usually in the path under your profile - e.g. on a Vista machine, C:\Users\yourloginname\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Out look If you cannot find your PST file and for some strange reason it has been deleted, then you can run Recover My Files (Data Recovery Software to Undelete Files; Disk recovery; Recover Deleted Files) - a Complete File Search to locate and recover the deleted .pst file. If you find a file and it is corrupt and does not open with Outlook, then you can download and read the file with Recover My Email from Email Recovery Software: Mail Recovery and repair for Outlook and Outlook Express Good luck.
