Default Does recover My Files write to the damaged drive?

I have heard that some data recovery programs write to the damaged drive, which makes the damage worse. Assuming the recovered data is recovered onto a separate drive from the damaged one, Does RecoverMyFiles write to the drive in any way while it searches for damaged files?

Recover My Files does not write to the drive being search.

Recover My Files was first written as a tool for law enforcement data recovery - so from day 1 this was one of the core development criteria.
