Default MTS and MKV files

I have recently accidently formatted a hard drive on my system. It contained a bunch of avchd videos with the extension mts and a bunch of video files with the extension mkv. I also had various .jpeg and avi and wav and mp3 files on this drive also.

The problem I am having is that RMF can find pretty much every file that was formatted over and even stuff from a previous format but it will not find and mts files or mkv files.

Does rmf recognize these? or is thre a wat to rectify this? Most of them are home videos so they are pretty importatnt.

Thanks

Default Data Recovery

Hi,

Download the Version 4 beta from Recover My Files v4 Beta Testing Page and run a "Recover Drive" on the hard disk. Use the "selected file types" option, and under video you will find the MTS file type. Also include JPEG in the search which will help the program locate the missing file system.

I'll have to do some research in relation to the mkv files to see what structure they have.

Cool thanks I will try that out.

here is some MKV information:

http://en.wikipedia*****/wiki/Matroska

Quote:
The Matroska Multimedia Container is an open standard free container format, a file format that can hold an unlimited number of video, audio, picture or subtitle tracks inside a single file.[1] It is intended to serve as a universal format for storing common multimedia content, like movies or TV shows. Matroska is similar in conception to other containers like AVI, MP4 or ASF, but is entirely open in specification, with implementations consisting mostly of open source software. Matroska file types are .MKV for video (with subtitles and audio), .MKA for audio-only files and .MKS for subtitles only. The most common use of .MKV files is to store HD video files.
