Cool Recovered files saved as multiple files and can't be read.

I have "recovered" files which show up saved as multiple files (same name with _1, _2, etc.) These are all unreadable, no matter what extension. Are the files beyond hope?

Thanks

You should be able to view these files. Is it possible that the drive from which they are being recovered has gone to sleep?

How were they lost?

What version of our software are you running?

The drive suffered some mechanical failure. I'm running v4 Standard. The files are being saved as filename.doc, filename_1.doc, filename_2.doc and they're all the same size. This has happened to many files with different extensions and when I try to open a file with its related program it says it's a non-supported file type or has been damaged.
