URGENT - Wedding Footage - PLZ HELP!

After recoving from illness I accidently deleted my parents wedding footage by reformatting the wrong PC. After recovering with your program I got the files back but they wont open and look like this:

615 MB (645,726,208 bytes)
Name of File: }#}#}#}#.}#}
Type of file: }#} File

Please help as this is wedding footage that can't be replaced

Also the footage was taken with a Sony Hard Drive Camcorder TY

What operating system was used to the do the format (e.g. Vista, or XP). How long did the format take?

What is the file extension produced by the Sony camcorder?
